COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered corona virus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. COVID-19 is now a pandemic affecting many countries globally. Which has affected our educational system in negatively but also has its positive effect. Virtually all institutions of learning have been ordered to be temporarily shut down as part of plans to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world, which has made the calendar in most schools to change and also caused distance learning that is online learning which is more expensive in Nigeria than any other country. Even when school closures are temporary, it carries high social and economic costs on the student and parents, school performance hinges critically on maintaining close relationships with teachers. We have students who are from disadvantaged backgrounds, who may not have the parental support needed to learn on their own which has made it more expensive.
what can we do to migrate these negative impact affecting our educational system today ? Schools in the third world countries suffer from this negative impact on how covid-19 has affected our educational system most especially Africa. Good network connectivity should be provide to reduce the burden of disadvantaged students.
